Training and dissemination on neurodiversity

Specialisterne has a team of professionals from the areas of psychology, HR, job placement, professional coaching and processes that, based on the needs of our client, allow specifying and executing training actions and outreaching around the inclusion of neurodiversity, with a special focus on in autism.

The format used can range from open and short dissemination sessions to advanced training in HR areas on the inclusion of neurodiversity, through workshops and courses for managers, mentors or management on how to properly include a neurodivergent person within a team.

For the whole company

OBJECTIVE: publicize neurodiversity and autism to the entire company.

CONTENTS: neurodiversity and related concepts, prevalence, correct vocabulary, benefits of including neurodiversity, success stories, basic ideas of inclusion of neurodivergent people, etc.

For teams

OBJECTIVE: to introduce neurodiversity and autism to a work team, emphasizing the day of interaction with neurodivergent people.

CONTENTS: neurodiversity and related concepts, prevalence, correct vocabulary, benefits of including neurodiversity, success stories, basic ideas for the inclusion of neurodivergent people, detailed description of typical neurodivergent profiles and recommendations on how to integrate these people into the team and interact with them.

 

For mentors

OBJECTIVE: provide guidelines and recommendations for people who act as mentors or support networks (buddies, etc.) for neurodivergent people.

CONTENTS: detailed description of typical neurodivergent profiles (and possibly of specific profiles) and recommendations on how to support these people in their process of entering the company, in their day-to-day life and in their professional career.

For team managers

OBJECTIVE: provide guidelines and recommendations for people who exercise managerial roles for neurodivergent people.

CONTENTS: detailed description of typical neurodivergent profiles and recommendations on how to support and direct these people at their start in the company, in their day-to-day life and in their professional career. Review of the most common challenges and how to overcome them. Relationship with the internal support network of the company and with external coaches. Benefits of including neurodiversity for projects, for the team and for the manager’s own professional career.

For HR

OBJECTIVE: provide extensive training to HR teams on everything related to neurodiversity to ensure its successful inclusion and to guide this area on the way forward to enhance it.

CONTENTS: the process of inclusion of neurodiversity in detail; typical adaptations of the environment and the workplace; how to support peers, mentors and managers; recommendations on HR policies and processes and how to adapt them to neurodiversity; how to measure the results of inclusion; maturity model of the inclusion of neurodiversity; neurodiversity strategy and how to include it in global D&I plans; legislation; etc.

For Marcom and other areas

OBJECTIVE: provide a series of recommendations to Marketing and Communication and CSR teams on the respectful dissemination of initiatives for the inclusion of neurodiversity both internally and externally, and both as independent and integrated initiatives as part of diversity policies and / or the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals); provide other specialized training to other areas (Safety, PRL, even external providers) on how to adapt their activities to better include neurodiversity.

CONTENTS: neurodiversity and related concepts, SDGs, correct vocabulary, benefits of including neurodiversity, success stories, basic ideas for the inclusion of neurodivergent people, common mistakes and risks when disseminating initiatives for the inclusion of neurodiversity, specific content for other areas, etc.

Personalization

 All these training actions can be adapted to become completely tailored training based on the reality of the people and areas receiving the training.

They can also be complemented with subsequent sessions with part of the attendees or even in individual format for, among others:

  • Provide more training in specific aspects.
  • Include coaching sessions for managers who already have neurodivergent people in their teams, or for HR teams that want to analyze certain cases in detail.

The objective of the training and outreach services is to provide the company, either in whole or in part of it, contents that help to understand and include neurodiversity.
